Pakistan Secures $257 Million ADB Financing for STEM Education and Health Workforce


Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have entered into two financing agreements totaling 257 million dollars to support initiatives in the education and health sectors.

The first initiative, titled the Responsive, Ready and Resilient Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Secondary Education in Punjab Program, amounts to 107 million dollars, including a seven-million-dollar grant from the Asian Development Fund.

The second initiative, the Punjab Nursing and Health Workforce Reform Program, carries a value of 150 million dollars.

Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Muhammad Humair Karim, expressed appreciation for ADB’s concessional financing for these priority programs, noting that the support will substantially contribute to sustainable, long-term social development and address critical education and healthcare needs across Punjab.
